Who I Am

My name is Hannah. Interior design is my passion, though I like to consider myself more of an "Expert Generalist".

"...someone who has the ability and curiosity to master and collect expertise in many different disciplines, industries, skills, topics, capabilities etc. It also means being able to draw on that diverse knowledge base to recognize patterns, connect dots, and improvise on situations. Think of it as being the Jack/Jill of more than one trade with just enough knowledge to give you an edge."

For a long time, I carried shame about my varied path - how my colored and often course changing journey, led me in several different directions instead of committing to a single trade. I understand now, that my journey has led me to exactly where I need to be.

10 years ago I went to FIDM, majored in product development. I learned the intimate process of seeing a vision from the conception phase to completion. I learned things about textile science, color theory and how to cut manufacturing costs.

Later, I worked at Aesop, prescribing natural skincare to all different walks of life. I learned the necessity of taking a prescriptive approach with each person I worked with. The value of an in depth consultation became a cornerstone for me because I learned how to deeply listen to a someone's needs. I learned not to project my routine onto them. I learned to pay close attention to what they struggle with. What they want to achieve, what their non negotiables are. But most importantly, I learned how to marry all of those things and prescribe a recipe that worked for them.

I got certified in Reiki. Learned how to work with the energy of not only myself, but others. I learned how to re-direct light to the areas that need attention and healing. And how to hold the space for someone else to break through their barriers and grow.

I completed a 1600-hour program at cosmetology school and got my license. I learned the intimacy of texture, contrast and shape. I memorized the color wheel and intuitively understand which tone compliments the other. I learned how sometimes adjusting details on the outside can greatly affect the way someone feels on the inside.

So what do all of these things have in common, and what do they have to do with you?

Through each one of these chapters, as each day ended - I came home.

I came home.

I learned how to create my space. I learned how to integrate this broad collection of gestures in my private life. I curated my home with an understanding of textile science, identified what my specific needs were, made sure the energy of the space felt right, was selective about which colors flowed naturally with the next.

I learned how to create a space that FELT right for me. And now I want to do the same for you. Because it’s important. Your home should inspire you. Everyday. And it’s my mission to get you there.
